GSBA's New Boards of Education Self-Assessment

The leadership team (board and superintendent) identifies and mutually agrees on the goals contained in the superintendent evaluation instrument. GSBA’s process addresses the major roles and responsibilities required in board governance and board operations.

The superintendent evaluation instrument used in this process states the adopted goals with the required action steps (indicators) and related evidence needed to accomplish the adopted goals.

By incorporating GSBA’s Standards for Local Boards of Education into the superintendent evaluation instruments, there are many advantages. One of the most important advantages is that the board and superintendent mutually agree upon the evaluation instrument and its contents.
