Dr. Don Rooks
Director of Legislative and Superintendent Search Services

Don Rooks, Ed.D., serves as GSBA's Director of Legislative and Superintendent Search Services. He has held responsibility for the Association’s legislative program since 1994 and named Director in 2006. Dr. Rooks serves as GSBA’s liaison with state legislators and works to promote the Association’s legislative positions to legislators and other policy-makers.  Prior to joining GSBA, Dr. Rooks served as superintendent of the Jefferson City Schools, a post he held from 1982 to 1994. He also served Jefferson City Schools as assistant superintendent from 1977-1982 and as principal of Jefferson High School from 1976-1977. Dr. Rooks served GSBA as Assistant Executive Secretary from 1972 to 1976.
