Options 1 & 2 below can lead to compliance with the GSBA Standards and achievement of the Boards of Distinction designation.
The superintendent evaluation instrument used in the GSBA Standards for Local Boards uses a method where the adopted goals are written, along with the required action steps (indicators) and related evidence needed to accomplish the adopted goals.
By incorporating GSBA’s Standards for Local Boards of Education into the superintendent evaluation instruments, there are many advantages. One of the most important advantages is that the board and superintendent mutually agree upon the evaluation instrument and its contents.
Option 1 - a sample instrument with some information supplied as an example to follow.
Option 2 - a template for the board and superintendent to fill in their own goals, etc.
Option 3 - the older “checklist” instrument that had been used around the state and was revised in 2002.
